The robbery took place during the evening of Wednesday, December 27, 2006.  The couple, a 22-year-old man and his 21-year-old wife, were inside their home in the 1400 block of Bronson Street.  At about 8:05 pm, while their 2-year-old daughter was asleep in her room, three Black male adults armed with handguns forced their way into the residence.  The three men terrorized the couple and forced them to provide personal information about their finances.

During the home invasion, the suspects hit the couple numerous times with the handguns.  Both victims sustained lacerations and cuts to their face and head.  The incident lasted approximately 15 minutes and the suspects fled with a small amount of property.  The 2-year- old girl was unharmed during the incident.

Detectives have been following up on leads and are asking anyone who has information about this crime to contact them.  “Someone either knows who the suspects are, or will know,” said Homicide / Robbery Detective Jon Evers.  “We are asking for the public’s help on this and for them to call with any information they might have.”

Investigators are unsure of a motive for the robbery or why the suspects chose the residence, however, they believe the suspects may have been looking for drugs.  Detectives, however, found no evidence of drug involvement or use at the victim’s residence.  According to Detective Evers, “This couple had nothing to do with drugs.  We found nothing at the house that would suggest illegal drug use or sales.  The suspects went to the wrong house and, as a result, a young man and wife were terrorized in their own home.”
