Modesto's central location, within 90 minutes of San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento is well-served by all modes of transportation.
Modesto is within an hour and a half drive of four International Airports, a regional and executive airport:
Commercial Freight: Union Pacific/Southern Pacific, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Modesto & Empire Traction Company and Valley Transload
Passenger: Amtrak San Joaquins, (coming) Altamont Commuter Express (ACE) Train is expanding to include the Modesto transit center station, connect passengers to Sacramento, the Bay Area, and later to Los Angeles via high speed rail. ACE stations are currently located nearby in Stockton and Lathrop/Manteca.
Modesto is less than an hour from the deep water Port of Stockton, and 90 minutes from the Port of Oakland, one of the busiest west coast ports.
